The lesson plans for primary school and worksheets include adaptations for students with special educational needs:
– aphasia (A)
– autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
– mild intellectual disability (ID)
General guidelines for working with students with these educational needs during this teaching cycle can be found HERE.
CYCLE 1. Mathematics – Upper primary school
„Understanding graphs and relationships”
The aim of this teaching cycle is to develop an intuitive understanding of different types of relationships and their graphs. Throughout the lessons, students create and explore graphs that show how distance changes over time through embodied activities.
This teaching cycle is designed for students in the final grades of primary school, who are not yet familiar with the concept of function. The formal definition of a function is not introduced in this teaching cycle.

CYCLE 2. Mathematics – Secondary school
Learning environment „Discovering and exploring functions through motion analysis”
The aim of this teaching cycle is to develop students’ understanding of functional relationships, to build an intuitive sense of the concept of a function and its graph, to discover (Version B) or recall (Version C) the conditions that define a function, and to strengthen students’ ability to use function graphs to model real-life situations involving motion.
Throughout the lessons, students create and investigate graphs that represent changes in distance over time through embodied experiments.
This teaching cycle is designed for upper-secondary students, both as an introduction to the concept of a function and as an opportunity to apply functions to motion analysis and mathematical modelling.
The teaching cycle includes the following topics:
1. Creating and interpreting graphs describing motion,
2. Describing motion using graphs,
3B. Discovering and exploring functions through motion analysis,
3C. Functional relationships in the analysis of motion,
4. Changing rate of change.
